Children “learn by doing” and remember best when they actively participate. Making Memories for Children is designed to engage, educate and inspire children ages 5-12, through a series of different creative programs.

Sunday, June 2
1:00 - 3:00pm
Jon Klassen is the creator of the 2013 Caldecott Medal winner This Is Not My Hat, as well as the 2012 Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book and New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year I Want My Hat Back. He is also the illustrator of Extra Yarn (Balzer + Bray), winner of a Caldecott Honor and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award; Cats’ Night Out by Caroline Stutson (Simon & Schuster), winner of the prestigious Governor General’s Award for Illustration; and The House Held Up by Trees (Candlewick Press), a picture book by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Ted Kooser.
Klassen will give a presentation on This is Not My Hat and do some on-the-spot drawing.
