Newport Beach Public Library Foundation continues to enhance the community as a center for education and access to information, enriching the life of every citizen, thanks to the generosity of our committed members, foundations, corporations and endowment fund donors.

The Library Foundation's support strengthens Newport Beach Public Library’s place among the nation's preeminent public libraries.

The Library Foundation recently made the following possible:

E-readers (Nooks and Kindles) for demonstration purposes

New collections
Blu-ray discs for the Central Library and Balboa Branch
Large-print books for the Corona del Mar Branch
New foreign films for the Central Library

New market umbrellas for the Bamboo Courtyard

New book drops for the Central Library, Balboa and Corona del Mar Branches

Commercial grade disc repair machine (to maintain the CDs and DVDs in the collection)

Database Enhancements
The Library Foundation makes a wealth of information available for free by partly funding the Library's subscriptions to research databases, online tutorials, and downloadable e-media.

BookScan provides free access to a professional grade scanner for scanning books, documents, photos and the ability to email PDF or JPG files.

Boopsie is a new app (free downloadable application) that allows you to access the library’s website, search, place holds, renew items and more from your smart phone.

Rocket Languages
Rocket Languages is a comprehensive multi-media package for mastering language skills in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, English, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Sign Language, Spanish.
